On the other hand, the audience likes to receive such a political or social message in a form other than a poem or a speech heard on TV. The genre of the song Rap or Hip-Hop allowed the message to be interpreted perfectly and at the same time, the audience, even those who are not concerned about political or social issues to like it as well. The stage of development of the song is mainly specialized. Running head: CREATING A BUSINESS Creating a Business Identify at Least Three Challenges When Setting up a Business. Explain why they are Challenges. There are a number of challenges involved with starting your own business. The first of which is coming up with a great business idea. This can become a challenge when the potential business owner builds their business plan around what they want to sell, instead of what customers want to buy. The potential business owner must research the target market thoroughly and develop his/her business plan centered on what consumers in the area need. After figuring out what the focus of the business is, many would-be business owners run into the next challenge; writing the business plan. The business plan is an important document that serves as an outline of every detail of the business. One of its main uses is to present to possible investors in order to secure initial funding for the company’s launch. Many people simply don’t want to put the time and effort in writing the business plan; they just want to get it off the ground. This could make it difficult to secure funding, but it could also be detrimental in accurately gauging the overall success of the company. The third challenge facing those who want to start a business is finding out how the business will reach their target audience. The challenge here is multi-faceted; finding the best way to reach customers, and providing a compelling message to them once they’re found. There are many ways to reach consumers, but business owners should spend the time getting to know where those consumers are looking to buy. Maybe it’s on the internet, or maybe it’s in the local newspaper; either way, it’s up to the business owner to find the customers. Define What a â€Å"Niche† Product is. The High School Games An Everyday Katniss Everdeen free essay sample

As the exuberant sun rises ever higher in the morning sky, so do the levels of anxiety and uneasiness among the entire population of District 12. Although this small province of Panem is poverty-stricken and privy to the pains of famine, every citizen manages to dress in his or her best attire for this momentous occasion: welcome to the twisted highlight of death, drama, and danger that has graced every year since the revolution. Welcome to the horrifying battle royale that Katniss Everdeen has selflessly volunteered herself for. Welcome to the 57th annual Hunger Games. While I do not live in a destitute district that answers to an oppressive Capitol, I am able to draw many parallels to the life and times of Katniss Everdeen. From the very first page of the â€Å"Hunger Games† by Suzanne Collins, I knew with every fiber of my being that Katniss was a character with whom I could easily relate: the two of us can both be described as strong, emotionally reserved, and independent young women whose will to survive is a force to be reckoned with. We will write a custom essay sample on The High School Games: An Everyday Katniss Everdeen or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page For Katniss, the uphill battle that facilitated this remarkable drive comes in the form of a brutal â€Å"fight to the death† that she could not afford to lose. Although I will luckily never have to partake in such an appalling event, I have a realm of danger all my own that most participants never leave from unscathed or without serious injury: high school. While Katniss’ competitors wield swords, daggers, and other weapons of mass destruction in an effort to break her down physically, the students who roam the hazardous halls of my high school have a slightly different objective: to destroy the very core of one’s emotional and mental strength. How could they accomplish such a daunting task, you ask? With arsenals stocked full of insults, stereotypes, prejudiced claims, and senseless gossip. If manipulated with enough dexterity and precision, words have the potential to do the same damage as, if not more than, the sharpest of daggers. However, like Katniss, I have learned that weapons can only inflict damage if you allow them to; in the face of enemies, adversity, and troubling times, both of us have learned to travel the path of least resistance, emotionally disconnect from our surroundings, and never give the opposition the chance to attack our vulnerability. By finding strength in physical or emotional pain, my fictional counterpart and I will always emerge from the battlegrounds as victors.

Second-Hand Smoke essays

Second-Hand Smoke essays In recent years, the cigarette industry has come under attack for a variety of issues, including second-hand smoke. It is important to examine the effect this second-hand smoke has on non-smokers. The use of tobacco "remains the leading preventable cause of death in the United States, causing more than 440,000 deaths each year and resulting in an annual cost of more the $75 billion in direct medical expenses. Nationally, smoking results in more than 5.6 million years of potential (tobaccofreeqc.org/adult/secondhand_smoke.shtml)." People who are exposed to secondhand smoke run the risk of dying from the third leading cause of preventable death in the United States. There are thousands of chemicals, many which are extremely toxic, released in tobacco smoke, and this smoke is the only source of most of these chemicals. "Some of the smoke is inhaled by the smoker, but a larger amount of smoke is released into the air. Two-thirds of the smoke from a cigarette is not inhaled by the smoker (tobaccofreeqc.org/adult/secondhand_smoke.shtml)." Secondhand smoke (SHS), "sometimes referred to as environmental tobacco smoke (ETS), is a mixture of the smoke given off by the burning ends of a cigarette, pipe, cigar, bidis, and kreteks (sidestream smoke) and the smoke emitted at the mouthpiece and exhaled from the lungs of smokers (mainstream smoke) (cdc.gov/tobacco/>)." The smoke inhaled by the smoker contains almost the exact same chemicals as found in secondhand smoke, however, secondhand smoke may actually contain a higher chemical concentration. Secondhand smoke is composed from a "complex combination of more than 4,000 chemicals, and includes irritants and systemic poisons such as hydrogen cyanide, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, ammonia and formaldehyde. Secondhand smoke contains "at least 250 chemicals known to be toxic or caus...

Supply chain management - Operation management Essay - 1

Supply chain management - Operation management - Essay Example The aggregate planning is often shared with the supply chain partners since it has a great impact on the supply chain. All the stages within the supply chain ought to work hand in hand in order to improve the supply chain performance. This is quite essential because it would help synchronize the flow of operations throughout the supply chain (Boyer & Verma, 2009). The information that would be better shared with the supply chain partners is the vendor managed inventory because vendors are known to undertake the duty of planning on behalf of the trading partners. My main reason for such a decision is to minimize the safety stock as a buffer on the vendor side due to the uncertainty in demand as well as minimize the safety stock on the consumer side due to uncertainty in supply (Liu & Kumar, 2003). The supply chains partners will have to ensure that there is collaboration between the overtime, inventory holding and the subcontractors. In case the aggregated plan is not achieved, a special handling process ought to be adopted so that the process of production is not slowed down, but met as anticipated within the six months. Strategic sourcing is, as well, information that ought to be shared herein. Since the production of tankloads involves a chain of suppliers, sourcing becomes a complex match making procedure. The combined process of efforts from subcontractors, working overtime and the inventory holdings varies in its structure from chronological sharing. The success in information sharing throughout the supply chain, starting from demand forecast to order fulfilment, will see the Bottling Company minimise costs using this production
